Since the first time I photographed wind turbines for General Electric over a decade ago, I’ve been captivated by the scale and shapes of them. I especially love the blades; I often say they remind me of a sculpture by Brancusi called Bird in Space. But sometimes they look like spaceships, and other times some sort of huge swimming creatures. The scale of a single turbine is something to see, especially from on top, but when they’re installed by the dozens or hundreds, it can look quite surreal.
